Solderless JST SM Extension for Addressable LED

This pack supplies five 0.5 metre cables with male-to-female 3-pin JST SM connectors in 20 AWG wire. Each lead carries red, green and white conductors rated for 5 V to 24 V low-voltage use. The plug-and-play design lets hobbyists link WS2811, WS2812B, WS2814, SK6812 or FCOB WS2811 IC strips to compatible controllers without any soldering. Builders who need longer runs or higher current capacity should look elsewhere.

Replacing Hard-Wired or Soldered Jumper Leads

The cables substitute for permanent solder joints when connecting strip-to-strip or controller-to-strip on SP105E, SP107E, SP108E, SP602E, SP530E, SP630E, SP638E or DR03W controllers. The jump is worth it when a project demands quick reconfiguration, temporary test setups or a neat, reversible installation. Installations that exceed the supplied length or require heavier gauge conductors will not be served by this kit.

At 0.5 metres the 20 AWG conductors introduce measurable resistance, so voltage drop and signal instability can appear on power-hungry RGB strips. Symptoms include irregular flickering and reduced brightness, especially at the far end of a chain. The cables are intended for short, low-current links; designers planning extended daisy-chains or high-density matrices must calculate losses separately and cannot rely on these leads alone.
