JV497 Black Masking Tape

JV497 is a black masking tape built on a saturated crepe paper carrier with a synthetic rubber resin adhesive. It suits general-purpose tasks such as colour coding, arts and crafts, marking, bundling, holding, splicing, labelling and decorating. The tape conforms to irregular surfaces and releases cleanly from a variety of substrates. It is not printable.

60-yard roll for everyday masking

The roll supplies 60 yards of 5/8-inch tape at 5.7 mils thickness, giving enough length for repeated light-duty jobs around the workshop, studio or office. Medium adhesion holds paper, card and lightweight materials securely, yet allows easy removal without residue on most surfaces. Very wide rolls can tear if unwound quickly, so this narrower width is less prone to breakage. It is not designed for high-temperature paint baking or extended outdoor exposure.

Crepe paper backing with rubber resin adhesive

The saturated crepe paper carrier stays flexible and follows curves, while the synthetic rubber resin adhesive operates reliably between 60°F and 150°F. Elongation of 7 percent provides a small amount of stretch for tight wraps without snapping. Even pressure across the width when unwinding prevents edge tears and keeps the roll usable to the core. No special dispensing equipment is required.
