Copper Foil Tape for EMI Shielding

J.V. Converting Company, Inc. supplies a 1-ounce rolled copper foil tape suited for EMI/RFI shielding of small electromagnetic components such as transformer and reactor coils. The alloy 110 copper is 99.9% pure, annealed and non-tarnishing with a bright copper colour. It also serves for repairing or modifying wiring boards and for decorative arts and crafts projects. The aggressive acrylic adhesive creates a superior bond on clean surfaces.

Check Adhesive and Width Requirements

This tape does not have conductive adhesive, so it will not carry electrical current through the adhesive layer. Verify that your application only needs shielding or mechanical bonding without conductive paths. The actual width is 9.5 mm, approximately 5% narrower than the nominal size, and rolls ship on a 3-inch diameter neutral core that may be plain white. Confirm these dimensions fit your design constraints.

Non-Conductive Adhesive Defines Use Cases

Because the acrylic adhesive is non-conductive, the tape cannot bridge electrical connections across seams or splices; it provides shielding and physical attachment only. Buyers who need conductive adhesive should select a different product. The UL 510 Section 4 flammability rating (File #130121) supports use in regulated assemblies. The tape’s solderable copper surface allows component leads to be soldered directly to the foil.
