Shallow depth aids thermal dissipation in tight

At a nominal depth of 2 3/4 inches the box fits within standard two-by-four framing without protruding into insulation space, allowing heat from connected devices to dissipate into the wall cavity. Eight half-inch knockouts — two in the back and six on the sides — give flexible conduit entry while maintaining a sealed envelope that limits air leakage. The steel body adds negligible weight and does not generate audible noise during normal operation.

Replaces non-listed or smaller-capacity boxes

This unit upgrades older enclosures that lack UL listing or provide less than 14 cubic inches of fill volume, a common limitation when adding dimmers or smart switches that require extra conductor space.
