Raco Steel EMT Coupling 1 1/2 in

This zinc-plated steel coupling connects two runs of 1 1/2 in EMT conduit in a straight line. It is cULus listed to UL 514B and rated concrete-tight for embedded installations. The set-screw connection secures each conduit end without threads. Electrical contractors and maintenance teams use it to extend raceways in commercial and industrial wiring projects.

Set-screw coupling practical limits

The fitting accepts only EMT of the exact 1 1/2 in trade size; it will not join rigid, IMC or flexible metal conduit. Concrete-tight rating applies when the coupling is properly tightened in poured concrete or slab-on-grade work. Set screws require a screwdriver or nut driver and periodic re-torque after vibration settling. The straight orientation does not allow angular offsets between conduit runs.

Trade size 1 1/2 in decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 1 1/2 in EMT trade size marked on the conduit and the coupling. If the raceway uses a different trade size or a non-EMT conduit type, this coupling will not install correctly. Verify the conduit marking before purchase to avoid mismatched fittings on the job site.
