Compact direct-thermal label printer

The Honeywell D1 001 is a Bluetooth-connected thermal label printer designed for home, office, school and kitchen organisation. Its direct-thermal engine prints black text and graphics at 203 DPI without ink or toner. The adjustable roller accepts label widths from 12 mm to 50 mm, covering fourteen preset sizes from 0.5 x 1.6 inches up to 2 x 2 inches. A free companion app supplies 17 languages, over 100 templates and more than 300 images without requiring a login.

Bluetooth range and media dependence

Operation relies on a short-range Bluetooth link to a smartphone or tablet, so the controlling device must stay within a few metres during printing. The printer only works with direct-thermal label media; it cannot use standard paper, inkjet sheets or thermal-transfer ribbons. Labels are limited to black output on white, coloured or transparent thermal stock, and the mechanism does not support continuous roll lengths beyond the 50 mm width ceiling.

203 DPI print resolution

The 203 DPI resolution determines whether barcodes, small fonts and detailed graphics remain scannable and legible for the intended application. Buyers who need higher-density barcodes or photo-quality images will find this resolution insufficient. The fixed single-colour thermal output also rules out any requirement for multi-colour labels or full-colour stickers.
