1/8" Steam Air Vent Valve

The Gorton No. C is a straight vapor equalizing valve designed for one-pipe steam heating systems. It installs on radiators positioned farthest from the boiler or in the coldest rooms, such as upper-floor units. The 1/8" male pipe thread connects directly to standard radiator tappings. This valve automatically vents air to allow steam to enter the radiator quickly.

Venting capacity equal to 15 ordinary valves

The unit provides aggressive venting capacity rated at 15 times that of ordinary type air valves. This high capacity rapidly removes large volumes of air from distant or oversized radiators. It ensures steam reaches the heating element faster, reducing warm-up time for cold rooms. The valve closes automatically when steam arrives, preventing live steam loss.

1/8" male pipe thread connection

Installation requires a standard 1/8" female tapping on the radiator body. The straight body configuration fits typical radiator connections without additional fittings. No external power or control wiring is needed for operation. The valve frees the system from air-binding issues that cause uneven heating across the building.
