Powered Subwoofer with Integrated Amplifier

The Acoustic Audio PSW12 is a self-powered 12-inch subwoofer built for home-theatre and surround-sound systems. Its integrated high-efficiency amplifier delivers 500 watts peak power so the unit drives itself without an external amp. Standard dual RCA inputs connect directly to a receiver’s dedicated sub-out, while high-level raw-wire terminals allow use with stereo amplifiers that lack a pre-out. Automatic signal sensing switches the sub on and off with the system.

24 Hz Low-Frequency Extension

The cabinet is tuned to reproduce frequencies down to 24 Hz, reaching the deepest fundamentals in movie soundtracks and music. A long-throw 12-inch woofer with a high-rigidity PVA-treated cone moves the air volume needed for that extension. The 40 to 140 Hz crossover knob and 0 to 180 degree phase switch let you align the subwoofer’s output with the main speakers so the transition stays smooth at the chosen crossover point.

Sustained Output with Bass-Reflex Loading

A bottom slotted port and bass-reflex cabinet design reduce port compression during extended low-frequency passages. Internal bracing and vibration-absorbing feet keep the MDF enclosure stable when the amplifier drives the woofer continuously at high levels. The auto on/off circuit prevents the amplifier from idling between sessions, so thermal load stays controlled during long movies or listening sessions.
