Washdown motor for food and pharma lines

The Dayton 6WY60 is a three-phase washdown motor rated at 1-1/2 hp and 1750 RPM. Its totally enclosed fan-cooled housing and C-face mounting suit food processing, pharmaceutical and other wet environments that demand frequent high-pressure cleaning. The 145TC frame fits standard NEMA C-face gear reducers and pumps.

Upgrade from standard TEFC motors in wet zones

Replace a general-purpose TEFC unit when washdown cycles cause premature bearing or insulation failure. The jump is worth it if your line runs continuous duty at 40 °C ambient and needs Class F insulation with a 1.15 service factor to absorb overload spikes. The brake motor design also adds holding torque for vertical or indexed loads.

Check voltage, frequency

Verify your supply is 230/460 V AC at 60/50 Hz; the motor is usable at 208 V but not at 200 V. Full-load current draws 4.6 A at 230 V and 2.3 A at 460 V. Confirm the driven equipment accepts a 145TC C-face mount and that rotation direction CW/CCW matches your application. No thermal protection is built in, so external overload relays are required.
