This 55Wh lithium-ion battery replaces the original power cell in 13-inch MacBook Air models A1369 and A1466 released from late 2010 through early 2015. It matches Apple part numbers A1377, A1405 and A1496 and fits the EMC identifiers 2392, 2469, 2559, 2632, 2925 and 3178. The four-cell pack delivers 7.6 volts and is supplied brand new with grade-A cells.

Check your exact model identifier

Before ordering, confirm the model identifier printed on the bottom case of your MacBook Air; it must read A1369 for late 2010 or mid 2011 units, or A1466 for mid 2012, mid 2013, early 2014 or early 2015 units. Cross-reference the serial number with Apple's support database to verify the correct EMC code. This battery is not suitable for 11-inch Air models, Retina 13-inch models, or any MacBook Pro.

Thermals and power in daily use

The 7.6V 55Wh lithium-ion chemistry provides a direct voltage match to the original design, so the system's power-management controller regulates charge and discharge without extra heat. Under normal workloads the cell temperature remains within the laptop's standard thermal envelope and the internal fan profile is unchanged. No additional power draw is imposed on the MagSafe adapter beyond the stock specification.
