D-Link

D-Link DAP-1520 AC750 Dual Band Range Extender

SKU CH-CTC0-CHQYN

A portable dual-band Wi-Fi extender supporting 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies with speeds up to 750 Mbps and WPA, WPA2, WPS and WEP 64/128-bit encryption

  • Extends wireless coverage up to 750 Mbps
  • Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz flexibility
  • WPA, WPA2 and WEP encryption protects data
  • WPS button and QRS app simplify setup
  • Backward compatible with 802.11 a/b/g/n devices

Dual-band range extender

The DAP-1520 plugs directly into a wall outlet and rebroadcasts an existing Wi-Fi network on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It is aimed at home users who need to push wireless coverage into rooms the router cannot reach. Setup uses a mobile app for iOS or Android devices.

AC750 wireless speed

The extender supports a combined link rate of up to 750 Mbps across the two bands. Everyday tasks such as web browsing, email and HD video streaming on phones and tablets run comfortably. Very large file transfers or multiple simultaneous 4K streams will run out of headroom.

Replaces dead-zone workarounds

It upgrades from moving the router, running long Ethernet cables or relying on a phone hotspot when coverage fails. The jump is worth it when a single socket can serve the weak area and the existing network uses WPA, WPA2 or WEP encryption.

Questions about this item

Will the DAP-1520 extend the range of my older 802.11n router on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands?

Yes, the extender supports IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n and AC standards, so it repeats both bands from legacy routers.

How do I confirm the DAP-1520 is repeating my network at the full 750 Mbps link rate after setup?

Use the QRS mobile app on your iPhone or Android device to view the real-time connection status and signal strength.

Does the DAP-1520 package include the unit itself with its two internal antennas ready to plug in?

The DAP-1520 is a compact plug-in repeater with two internal antennas built in, so no external antennas or cables are needed.
