Four-Port FXO Voice Card

This Cisco VIC2-4FXO= provides four RJ-11 FXO interfaces for connecting IP telephony systems to analogue PSTN lines. It enables loop-start signalling, caller-ID, ground-start and battery-reversal detection with the appropriate software configuration. The module integrates voice and fax traffic into a single network infrastructure.

Suits PBX-to-PSTN trunking.

Installations that need to terminate incoming PSTN trunks on a Cisco router or gateway will use these FXO ports directly. Sites that must connect analogue telephones or fax machines require FXS ports instead, so this card does not address that requirement. The feature set also omits digital PRI or BRI interfaces.

Four RJ-11 FXO ports

The card presents exactly four RJ-11 FXO WAN ports, each supporting loop start with optional CAMA, caller ID, ground start and battery reversal when the host software enables them. This port count and interface type determine whether the module matches the trunk density and signalling needs of the deployment.
