2″ Schedule 40 Galvanized Steel Nipple

This 2-inch nominal pipe size nipple is made from Grade A steel with a continuous weld and a galvanized coating. It measures 4 inches overall with a 2-1/16-inch inside diameter and 2-3/8-inch outside diameter. The fitting is designed for air, gas, oil, steam and water distribution in residential or light commercial plumbing systems. Male NPT threads on one end and a threaded-beveled end on the other allow direct connection to compatible Schedule 40 components.

Pressure and Temperature Limits

The nipple is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi at 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Exceeding either limit can compromise the galvanized finish and the welded joint integrity. The Schedule 40 wall thickness defines the pressure boundary, so the fitting must not be used in high-pressure hydraulic or process lines that require heavier schedules. Thread engagement on the NPT side must follow standard practice to maintain the rated seal without over-torquing.

Manufactured in the United States, the nipple features a continuous weld that resists splitting under vibration and thermal cycling. Galvanized coating protects the steel from corrosion in water and steam service, though the threaded end exposes bare metal that should be sealed with appropriate tape or compound. The plain beveled end is ready for threading or welding on site, giving installers flexibility for custom-length runs. The robust steel body withstands job-site handling without denting or thread damage.
