1-Gang Vertical Weatherproof Cover

The Appleton Century Crofts FSK-WR1 is a die-cast copper-free aluminum cover designed for a single vertical receptacle. It provides NEMA 3R protection for outdoor or damp-location wiring devices. The self-closing lid and included EPDM gasket seal the 1-3/8 inch device opening against rain and splashing water. Electricians and facility managers use it to weatherproof standard non-locking blade plugs.

NEMA 3R and UL 514A limits

The cover meets NEMA 3R and UL 514A requirements for rain-tight enclosures, but it is not rated for submersion or high-pressure wash-down. The copper-free aluminum construction resists corrosion, yet the EPDM gasket and self-closing hinge are wear items that degrade with UV exposure and temperature cycling. The 1-gang format accepts only one device; it cannot be ganged side-by-side without a separate multi-gang box. The vertical mounting orientation is fixed by the hinge design.

Check box depth and device fit

Verify that the existing FS cast hub device box provides enough internal depth for the 1 5/32 inch cover projection plus the plug body. Confirm the receptacle face matches the 1-3/8 inch opening so the gasket seals evenly. Ensure the mounting ears align with the box screw pattern and that the supplied screws are compatible with the box material. The cover ships with gaskets and screws, but no receptacle or wiring components are included.
