Anvil

Anvil 311087407 1 x 1/4 FNPT Galvanized Reducer Coupling

SKU CH-MJD4-K3QNB

Galvanized malleable iron reducing coupling connects 1 inch and 1/4 inch female NPT pipe threads for Schedule 40 systems rated to 300 psi at 150 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Reduces pipe diameter with 1" to 1/4" FNPT threads
  • Galvanised malleable iron resists corrosion in water systems
  • Class 150 rating suits Schedule 40 piping installations
  • Handles 300 psi at 150 °F for reliable pressure containment

Anvil 311087407 Reducer Coupling

The Anvil 311087407 is a galvanized malleable iron reducing coupling rated Class 150 for Schedule 40 pipe. It connects a 1 inch female NPT thread to a 1/4 inch female NPT thread in water, oil or gas lines. The fitting handles a maximum operating pressure of 300 psi at 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Replacing worn galvanized couplings

This coupling replaces a damaged or corroded reducer in existing galvanized piping systems where the same thread specification and pressure class are required. The jump is worth it when the current fitting leaks or fails inspection and a direct Class 150 replacement restores system integrity without re-piping. It is not suited for installations that demand a different pressure rating, thread type or material compatibility.

Questions about this item

What pipe schedules and thread sizes does the 1" x 1/4" galvanized reducer coupling accept?

The coupling is rated for Schedule 40 pipe and has 1 inch female NPT on one end and 1/4 inch female NPT on the other.

How do you seal the NPT threads on this malleable iron fitting, and what mistake causes leaks?

Apply PTFE tape or pipe dope on the male threads only, tightening until snug plus one to two turns; over-tightening female NPT ports cracks the galvanized casting.
