Algo 81X8TBR Mounting Bracket

The Algo 81X8TBR is a steel ceiling bracket designed for Algo 8188, 8198 and 1198 SIP speakers. It attaches to standard T-bar rails or wooden joists, transferring speaker weight away from fragile ceiling tiles. Installers use it when tiles are aged, moisture-damaged or in seismic zones. The speaker itself is not included.

T-Bar and Joist Installation Limits

The bracket clamps onto cross-tee rails or bolts to timber framing, so the structure must expose those members. It cannot mount directly to drywall, plaster or suspended grids without accessible joists. Adjustable arms accommodate a range of joist spacings, but the ceiling cavity must allow tool access for tightening. Load capacity depends on the host structure, not the bracket alone.

Upgrade from Direct Tile Mounting

This bracket replaces screws driven straight into ceiling tiles, which can pull out as tiles weaken or during tremors. The jump is worth it when building codes require seismic restraints or when tile condition is uncertain. It also costs less than the 81X8T2x2 tile-replacement kit while still providing a secure mechanical connection to the building frame.
