Swivel Stem Caster for Carts

The Albion Inc. 32J899 swivel stem caster fits wheelbarrows and carts with a 3/4 in by 2 in square stem. It carries a 275 lb load rating for equipment weighing up to 299 lb. The 4 in polyurethane wheel rolls on a Delrin bearing. A zinc-plated steel frame resists corrosion in outdoor use.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

This caster has no motor, electronics or power supply, so it produces no heat, noise or electrical draw. The polyurethane tread runs quietly on hard surfaces without marking floors. Rolling resistance stays low under the rated load for smooth manual pushing.

Build Quality and Mounting Implications

The bolt-in square stem locks securely into compatible brackets, preventing unwanted rotation during use. Mounting height reaches 4 13/16 in, raising the cart chassis accordingly. Non-marking wheels protect finished floors. The single-wheel design suits light-duty yard carts rather than heavy industrial platforms.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 3/4 in x 2 in square stem on the 32J899 caster, and what step is often missed?

Insert the square stem into a matching square hole or bracket on your cart or wheelbarrow, then secure it with the supplied bolt; the step most often missed is tightening that bolt fully so the stem cannot rotate.

What maintenance will the polyurethane wheel and Delrin bearing need over time?

Wipe the 4 in polyurethane tread clean of debris and check the Delrin bearing for grit; relubricate the bearing with light oil if it begins to feel stiff.

At what load does the 32J899 caster reach its limit during sustained use?

The caster is rated for 275 lb per wheel; exceeding that load will cause premature wear or failure of the polyurethane tread and Delrin bearing.
