This AddOn transceiver is built for networks that need 10 Gigabit Ethernet links over single-mode fibre at 1310 nm. It fits any Fortinet device that accepts the FN-TRAN-SFP+LR module and meets TAA compliance requirements for government and enterprise procurement. The hot-swappable SFP+ form factor allows insertion or removal without powering down the switch.

TAA Compliance and Single-Mode Reach

TAA compliance means the unit can be deployed on federal and other regulated contracts where country-of-origin rules apply. Single-mode fibre support extends the link to 10 km, reducing the need for intermediate aggregation gear in campus or metro builds. The LC duplex connector matches standard patch cords already used in most fibre plants.

Hot-Swap Install and DOM Monitoring

Installation is a simple push-in until the latch clicks; no tools or configuration files are required. Digital optical monitoring lets the host report real-time temperature, voltage and optical power so misaligned or dirty connectors are spotted immediately. The main risk is inserting the module into a port that does not support 10G LR optics, which will prevent the link from coming up.
