The 3M R/Y+Jug twist-on connectors join solid or stranded copper conductors from 8 AWG up to 18 AWG. Each wing-style cap is rated for 600 V and a maximum operating temperature of 221 °F. The plastic housing carries a UL 94 V-2 flammability rating and meets both UL Listed and CSA Certified requirements. A single pack contains 500 pieces for high-volume electrical work.

Electricians running copper circuits up to 600 V

These connectors suit residential and light-commercial wiring where copper conductors fall within the 8-to-18 AWG range and a wing grip speeds installation. They are not intended for aluminium conductors, voltages above 600 V, or environments exceeding 221 °F. Buyers needing larger-gauge combinations, higher temperature ratings or non-copper applications should select a different connector family.

Push-and-twist installation with wing leverage

Strip each conductor to the recommended length, align the wires, push them into the cap and twist until the wings lock tight. The 1.17 in overall length and 0.76 in square profile fit standard junction boxes. Common issues include insufficient strip length leaving exposed copper, over-twisting that cracks the plastic housing, and mixing conductor sizes outside the 8-to-18 AWG window which can loosen under vibration.
