This 3M ring terminal accepts 14 to 16 AWG wire and is rated for up to 1,000 V. It suits electrical and automotive wiring jobs that require a secure crimp connection to a quarter-inch stud. The nylon insulation provides partial coverage and withstands temperatures up to 221 °F. It is UL Listed and CSA Certified for code-compliant installations.

Capacity and headroom

The butted barrel has an inside diameter of 0.09 in and a length of 0.25 in, sized for the stated wire range. It comfortably handles standard 14 AWG conductors but runs out of room for larger gauges or multi-wire bundles. The tongue width of 0.47 in fits a 1/4 in stud cleanly; it will not suit smaller or larger bolt sizes. Voltage headroom is ample for low-voltage and mains-rated circuits within the 1,000 V limit.

Build and daily use

The copper barrel carries a tin finish that resists corrosion and aids solderability if needed. Nylon insulation resists abrasion and chemical exposure better than vinyl in harsh environments. Partial insulation coverage leaves the crimp zone visible for easy inspection. The crimp termination style allows fast, tool-driven installation without soldering. Mounting on a quarter-inch stud is straightforward, though the fixed tongue width limits flexibility if stud sizes vary across a project.
