Orange winged twist-on connector

This orange winged twist-on connector joins solid or stranded copper conductors in residential and light-commercial wiring. It accepts a single wire from 18 AWG up to 14 AWG and handles combinations as small as five 22 AWG conductors or as large as two 14 AWG with up to three 22 to 20 AWG wires. The vinyl-insulated steel spring is rated for 600 V and a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F. It carries UL Listing and CSA certification for code-compliant installations.

Wing design and vinyl insulation

The contoured wings give extra grip for hand tightening, reducing fatigue when making multiple splices in a junction box. Vinyl insulation covers the spring and extends over the wire entry, providing abrasion resistance and a visual confirmation that conductors are fully seated. The connector accommodates a maximum of five conductors, so installers can complete multi-wire splices with a single component instead of using several smaller connectors.

600 V rating and temperature limit

The 600 V rating restricts use to circuits that do not exceed this voltage, excluding higher-voltage industrial or service-entrance applications. At 221 degrees F the insulation reaches its thermal limit, so the connector must not be used in environments or enclosures where ambient heat combined with load current could surpass that temperature. The steel spring is designed for copper only; aluminium conductors require a different connector type. Physical dimensions of 0.86 in height and 0.43 in width determine the minimum box fill allowance.
