3M 4016 Foam Tape for Interior Mounting

3M 4016 is a double-sided urethane foam tape designed for bonding, attaching and mounting tasks on interior surfaces. Each roll measures 1 inch wide by 36 yards long with a 1/16 inch thickness. The off-white acrylic adhesive bonds to most clean, dry, rough or smooth surfaces and provides cushioning and vibration damping. Supplied as nine rolls per case on a branded 3M cardboard core.

Suited for Signage, Nameplates and Vibration Control

Ideal for installers mounting interior signage, nameplates or components where vibration damping and shear strength on metal or high-energy plastics are required. The open-cell structure aids component cooling while the acrylic adhesive resists high temperatures and solvents. Not intended for exterior exposure, structural load-bearing joints or applications requiring a thinner profile than 1/16 inch. Buyers needing a different width should note that 1/4 inch rolls are made to order on plain cores.

1/16 Inch Thickness Handles Gaps and Cushioning

The 62 mil foam thickness fills small gaps and provides handling convenience plus cushioning for interior mounting jobs. High ultimate bond strength increases with natural aging and delivers very high shear holding power on compatible substrates. Headroom ends where exterior weathering, continuous immersion or sustained loads beyond the tape's shear capacity begin. For those conditions a different fastening method is required.
